In IOS 10, unlocking an iPhone now requires a physical press on the Home Button by default. However, there is a hidden feature that allows the iPhone to act more like iOS 9 if you have Touch ID, called “Rest Finger to Open”. This works with any iPhone or iPad that has a Touch ID Home button. Rest Finger to Open means that the phone will unlock itself without any physical button presses as long as the screen is on and it can authenticate the owner using your registered Touch ID fingerprints. As Apple describes it, the setting lets you “Open iPhone with Touch ID, without having to press the Home button”.

Google went public exactly 12 years ago today, August 19 2004. If you bought one share of Google in 2004 at its initial public offering price of $85, then it would be two shares worth $1,575 today, taking into account Google's stock split.

Currently these are just recommendations. Although they are expected to be approved in the near future, it’s not clear yet what the next steps are toward seeing the proposed rules debated or implemented.

Some thoughts on the recent Twiter IPO as the story continues to unfold. Social-media IPOs tend to be volatile mainly because it’s a new sector and a still evolving business model. I think Twitter is a good bet. They still have quite a few uncharted business possibilities to pursue and as the mobile market continues to achieve considereable growth; marketers and advertisers will likely allocate more funds toward that platform for years to come and Twitter will be in a position to captitalize on that trend.
